Roshni's Essential Skincare Routine

Written by: Roshni

Hi friends! I wanted to share my skincare routine with you all. I have been lucky with my skin as I've never had bad acne or breakouts even during my teenage years *knock on wood.* I do get the occasional stress pimples, usually on my forehead, and pimples will pop up when its that time of the month. Over the past few years, as I learned more about skincare, I started incorporating more products to my routine. My skin type is combo/"normal." Listed down below is my routine, as of right now, for morning and night, as well as few of my favorite masks! I do want to incorporate a few other products to my skincare routine and if it does change I will list the updated products.

Morning Routine:

  1. Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser - This facial cleanser scrub is very gentle on the skin, has an amazing citrus scent, and leaves my skin feeling clean.

  2. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner - I've used this toner for about two years now and I absolutely love it. I've tried other toners but I find this one works the best on my skin.

  3. Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème - I was searching for a new eye cream when Puja suggested this one. She'd been using it for a while and absolutely loved it and after trying it I loved it as well. I've noticed my under-eye area has become lighter since using this product.

  4. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask - I've used this product for about six months now and can't say how much of a life changer it is!

  5. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion for All Skin Types - Great drugstore moisturizer.

  6. Supergoop SPF 50 sunscreen - Payal introduced me to this sunscreen and after using it I was hooked, I highly recommend this sunscreen to anyone who is looking for a new brand/are in need of sunscreen.

Night Routine without having to take makeup off:

  1. Origins Ginzing Refreshing Scrub Cleanser - this cleanser is gentle enough that I use it morning and night.

  2. Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Toner

  3. Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Concentrate - Another product introduced to me by Puja. I love it so much and noticed great results that I always recommend it to my friends! It is also a cult favorite in my house- even my mom uses it!

  4. Olehenriksen Banana Bright Eye Crème

  5. Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask

  6. Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

After applying my night skincare routine, I like to use my jade roller to set in the products. I don't use my jade roller every night but aim to do it at least 3-4x a week!

Night Routine when having to take make up off:

(Same routine as above but added in a makeup remover)

  1. Aveeno Baby Wash - this might be a controversy but a few months ago I had run out of makeup wipes and needed a way to take my makeup off. I noticed my three year old nephew's Aveeno Baby Wash and thought why not use it to take my makeup off? I heard baby washes do a great job removing makeup off but later realized it was baby oil that I heard about. Either way, the Aveeno Baby Wash took everything off. Yes, that included eye makeup. Ever since then it's become my new favorite way to remove make up. (Great perk of living at home and sharing a bathroom with a three year old.)

Favorite masks:

  1. Origins Clear Improvement Charcoal Mask - Sweety introduced me to this product. Its a great charcoal mask that doesn't hurt to take off. It leaves my skin feeling super soft and helps with my pores.

  2. Origins Retexturizing Mask with Rose Clay - This mask was given to me by Puja. After using this product I can see a difference on how much brighter and even toned my skin looks.

  3. Sephora Collection Face Sheet Masks - I've tried almost all of the masks from this collection and I've loved all of the ones I've tried so far.

  4. Laneige Water Sleeping Mask - this is the only overnight mask I've used. I do like it, but I did have to get used to the stickiness on my skin while I slept. Overall I do love how hydrated my face feels after I rinse it off the next day.

  5. DIY Haldi (Turmeric) Mask - this is my mom's recipe that I've been doing for a really long time (hoping to do another blog post on this so stay tuned).

And that concludes my skincare routine, I'd like to think it's pretty simple and easy to follow!
